Yesterday was the last day of school for my boys. This morning I stumbled across a book my youngest son’s teacher had sent home with him titled “Memories of First Grade”. I opened it up and began reading. Two minutes later I had tears in my eyes. And here’s why (word for word, spelling mistakes and all)….

The best day of my life was when my dad said he had a suprize for just me. So then I started to play football. In the afternoon I asked what the superize was. He said he wouldn’t tell me. Then I looked out of the window and I saw it. It was a trip to the indians game. It was the best day of my life. At the midle of the game I got a hotdog. But at the end of the game it was realy fun. Do you know what the fun part is? It was that my dad bot me a blow up baseball bat. Then we went home and I told my brother all about it.
